DrCaleb DrCaleb:
Pollution isn't non-existant. Achieving sustainability isn't either.
I know there is a large anti-global warming crowd here, but Suzuki isn't a one trick pony. He's been focused on the environment, and bringing it to the social mindset for longer than some of us here have been alive. Far longer than the issue of global warming has been in the spotlight. He seems to have conveniently pushed his pollution crusade to one side to ride the AGW bandwagon. That alone throws his credibility into suspect along with the pony he now rides.

Odd, the current season of 'The Nature of Things' is pretty much about pollution reduction, and sustainability. Global warming was mentioned, but only in how it relates to them. http://www.cbc.ca/documentaries/natureo ... chive.htmlThe last season had some great shows on the melting Arctic, and Anarctic. But that isn't happening, so we'll just pretend they didn't air or something and concentrate on those 'supercar' and 'Exxon Valdez' episodes. But I agree, the award itself probably comes in a box of pink popcorn.

ridenrain ridenrain: Who cares... Some nobodies awarded him something with even less meaning than the award they gave to Obama because he did nothing. And you know who the people who awarded this prize are? I don't. But you still feel you are qualified to call them nobodies! Perhaps a more mature remark would be in line, something like:"I don't feel he has done anything to deserve an award." Grow up ride.

What have they done to deserve you sticking up for them? How about, "I don't feel that the presenters have the proper qualifications or attributes to award David Suzuki, the well-known spokesperson for the environmental fear-mongering and awareness industry, an alternative Nobel prize, as they are not representatives of an alternate universe." Does that work for you? It does for me.

I can live with an alternative award for these alternative individuals the Norwegian socialists like. The real head scratcher was when Gore won the actual peace prize.

Liking David Suzuki or not, he has been given an award. So what? Who knows what? Do you?

Nah, they were pretty good. One that sticks out is "The pain of animals". He's not as radical as you think. He's just gone off a bit.

tsk tsk. No, that's Gore. Suzuki's the one who has a temper tantrum, and storms out of radio stations if you mention the fact there are scientists who disagree with him. He's the one who wants to jail politicians who disagree with him.
