When they are an elected body, then they have a job, not an appointment.

So until then, what I said? How dare they get uppity and serve the Constitution rather than their massuh?
Somewhere along the line someone has to think this shit through with their brain instead of with their guts & knees or with their all-consuming desire to NOT call an election. That's not gonna come from Parliament.

Serve the Constitution? What a crock.

The only thing they're serving is their own partisan needs. Tinkering with crime bills has little to do with anything but.

We should be discussing what the changes are, not that they made changes. If the changes are positive that's a good thing isnt it?

So when the Liberal party can't be soft on crime, we can trust the Liberal appointed senators to look out for crminals rights.

Maybe Harper should have appointed more of his cronies in August if he wanted the Senate to rubber stamp everything he sends their way...

Maybe the Liberal dominated senate should listen to their party leader and approve of the bill that he himself approved of.

If you want a reasonable look at the changes, see Eyebrock's post on the first page. It's a good example of clear, unpartisan thinking on the issue at hand.

While you two are being intimate, the fact remains that the liberal-dominated senate, is continuing to be soft on crime. Which is the past liberal governments' legacy to the people of Canada, a judiciary that is more concerned with the rights of criminals, than their victims. Three cheers...

Dominated?

Liberal: 46
Conservative: 52
PC caucus: 2
IND: 4
Vacant: 1

That's pretty damn even. In fact if they managed to swing both the PCs and INDs to their cause the vote would be even.

By your own figures that's 58 liberal appointees vs. 46 conservative. That's a difference of twelve. Provided that all the old folks actually leave their beds to go and vote, that's a liberal majority.

Except you are forgetting ones that were kicked out of the caucus or while appointed by the Liberals aren't members of the Liberal party or affiliated with it.

I posted the current make-up of the senate.
