YOUR kid is YOUR responsibility. The safety and well being of the passengers is the driver's responsibility.

It seems like the bus driver lived up to his responsibilities and yet again a parent is unable to and the blame goes elsewhere.

Bravo to the bus driver.

You obviously don't have children. If you think you can control when or where a 2 year old cries you're living in a dream world and I pity your future children.

I could see if the kid was moving around on the bus or somehow creating a physical hazard by kicking or something but crying? That's just a bunch of crap. Sounds like the driver was having a bad day and decided to pull a power trip by booting a woman and her kid off the bus for a bs reason.

I have children and I can completely understand why they were asked to leave the bus.

Having a screaming child is distracting enough when you're driving your own car let alone dozens of strangers looking for a safe ride.

I would have gotten off the bus and had a word with my child and hopefully get back on the next bus or walk home.

As a parent, I don't think people should have to sacrifice their safety because my child isn't behaving.

Brenda Brenda:
Wasn't that that autistic kid in NS?

Sounds familiar. I think he was right to ask for advice. If he hadn't he would have shouldered all the criticism himself.

I think it's rather sad really. At one point I had been taking the bus for years and yet when it came to drunks, people with loud music and teenagers swearing openly near children, 8 times out of 10 they never acted upon it.

Yet I can sit on a bus going home from work on new years eve, get harassed by 3 teens, complain about it and the bus driver pulls a guilt trip on me that she would have to stop the bus and delay everyone until a supervisor shows up. BS all around IMO.

Well, I have to agree with you. Drunks and teens had better be kicked off in the future, too.

Yeah, that's what we want, drunks being kicked off public transit. It'd be better if they were behind the wheel. [/sarcasm]
