Then tell us what distinguishes between a draftee and a reservist ordered to Afghanistan. Neither volunteered. Or someone who volunteered and changed their mind in an Army too fucking stupid to just quietly discharge or reassign them as useless.
You're in a thread of ppl who don't want to distinguish between desertion under fire and not reporting back and that only cowards need a reason to kill.

The fact that we didn't take a signifigant number of dodgers during Korea proves to me this was strictly a Trudeau sort of affair. There's more than enough Trudeaumania on this site to make me seriously question that but I'll take it at face value.

I can see the point if we take Americans on some moral ground but it's a hell of an awful way to screen new Canadians.

RR, I think we were also involved in Korea, so not many reasons
for that.

Secondly, for the draft dodger is ok crowd, I wonder what your reaction would
have been during our conscription periods in WWI and WW2.

Would you also condone our people running to the US ?

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
I think we should only accept soldiers who are drafted.

Other then that, no. You joined willingly. Do your job.

That's going to be pretty hard to do since the United States discontinued the draft in 1973, moving to an all-volunteer military force, therefore there is no longer mandatory conscription in the US military.

Gerard Kennedy, well it's nice to know who the enemy is.

As long as the Liberals have wankers like this representing them, they will never get my vote.

This guy was a leading voice in the Ontario Liberals and I do believe he polled quite high in the Federal Liberal leadership race when Dion got in.

This is the voice of the Liberal party and this voice will get louder once Iggy loses the next election.

A Reservist volunteers to join the Army Reserves. The US has been at war since 2001. Any Reservist who joined after that has no excuse for not thinking her or she would go on the active list and be deployed in to a combat zone.

That's the difference herbie. I also have a BA in the Fuckin' obvious.

Quiting and hiding is something for only those that find it so objectionable that they would rather go to jail.

If we catch them, we should oblige.

Again I offer up Mohammid Ali who refused to fight in Vietnm and went to jail as opposed to running away. Who made the biggest and mot effective protest?

Martin is right that "Citizenship has priviledges and benefits.. it also has responsibilities."
