We have no specific plan, at least that's been shared with me, beyond "wash your hands". We'll have 16,000 snotty, coughing punks on campus in another week and I fully expect that I'll be down with H1N1 before the semester's out.

I said "down", a few days off work, not the "dirt-nap". Jeez, H1N1's not likely to put us all in the ground, is it? Anyway, it's almost harvest time, so I'll just slip you a couple of buds and keep my $20, okay?

I'm absolutely not underestimating it. But I don't see how any of us in education or health care or any career that puts us at close quarters can avoid it. When our facilities are shared by hundreds or thousands of people, there doesn't seem to be any chance of not contracting this virus.

Well, working for a certain tier of local government, I can say that we are ready. We expect the worst and hope for the best.

There are a number of regulatory issues to be resolved at the federal level with agencies such as CRTC, Transport Canada, HRSDC and Privacy Commissioner. Some of these issue deal with service requirements and other in application of the law. Because these issues tend to be politically sensitive the bureaucrats don't want to talk about them.

If and when H1N1 becomes a full blown pandemic I suspect we will be back to old muddle-through approach which might be best if the regulators leave people alone.

I am not worried at all really, it is just the latest rant from the doomsayers, the world is coming to the end! It's the H1N1! Repent! Repent!

Im going to ride it out like every other flu season, hand sanitizer, OJ and a some over the counter meds if I do end up with something. I plan to laugh my ass off at anyone sporting one of those stupid dust masks on. If your that worried about infecting people stay home, or if you think it will give you more protection your a moron. You might as well just hold your breath.
