There is no "Heat Records Being Smashed in Oceans Everywhere", and even if there was, which again there is not, so what? It wouldn't prove the gas we exhale is causing it.

?? There aren't?

No there are not. I referred to the title of this thread, which referred to the article. The article suggested a record for July, implying we are now, in August, above where we've ever been. Only the bottom graph for South Atlantic SST shows that.

So no, those 3 graphs of the 9 offered do not show "Heat records being smashed in Oceans Everywhere". The 1 graph shows a record somewhere, of course, but there's always a record being made somewhere. Somewhere is not everywhere, and that's a pretty big distinction, I think.

The other 8 graphs including the global one appear to show a flat line, or no warming trend since 1998, which is what the alarmists can not explain in global temperatures, and why they make a statement of hyperbole such as "Heat records being smashed in oceans everywhere" based on a warm July during an El Nino (which is natural, and has nothing to do with CO2)

Here's some history on Seth Borenstein the warming catastrophist who's twisted tales of boiling seas started this thread.

Of course the climate is always changing, duh, and it will keep changing regardless of what we do. Sure, we contribute to the changes with the way we treat this planet but so does everything else that occurs naturally. Look at what a major volcanic eruption does to the weather patterns all over the planet for months afterward. Not to mention releasing harmful gases into the atmosphere.

If the theory that the earth is still recovering from it's last ice age is correct then it stands to reason that eventually the planet will warm to a point that there is no more ice. That would finally end the last ice age then...another begins? the planet dies? Who knows...that could be hundreds of years from now, maybe sooner, maybe never. Why waste time worrying about something you have no control over? Those who fear-monger this stuff should be shot.

The planet will continue to change no matter what we do, it's only natural.

While I agree with much of what you say, it is also "Natural" of us to try to survive by any means necessary.... even if it means to some of us that we should alter the planet to suit our own survival.

I'm not saying it's right, but it's a reality of our own nature within nature.

Beavers do the exact same thing, via creating their own habitat to live in, while altering it for many others... both good and bad.

While I have no issue with going with the earth's flow.... others feel that if we have the power and the technology to shape the earth's flow, then we should.

But who is more right?

MMGW is real, deal with it. Anyone who continues to deny it has their eyes closed and ears plugged. It already is very apparent and it will continue to get increasingly apparent with each year.

Uh, yeah, right, OK. I'll file that under stuff Sandorski says, and promise to attach all the credibility to it, it deserves.

In other news...

Roy Spencer, figured there was something fishy about the radical leap in sea surface temperature for July as claimed by NOAA, according to the article this thread is about.

It was pretty hard to believe. It jumped so high, so fast. We saw something similar once from, I think it was the NSIDC concerning sea ice extent. All of a sudden, boom, the ice just started to disappear on their graph. The line just zoomed downward like this one for SST zoomed upward for July. People started to investigate, and it turned out there was a problem with their satellite. NSIDC reacted by first of all getting pissed at the people who reported the error, then admitting to it.

So anyway Spencer has been comparing the sudden NOAA July SST spike to data from other satellites, and yeah, it turns out there's a problem.

TRMM Satellite Suggests July 2009 Not a Record for Sea Surface Temperatures

You see this sort of thing over and over again concerning the AGW issue. The media blasts news of some sort of outrageous claim. (Another example would be the Steig study which claimed the Antarctic was warming. It's not. It's cooling.) Anyway, you get the media headline of the claim. The claim is investigated. Turns out it's bogus. The media is silent on the final result of the investigation showing the falsehood of the original claim. (So is Hyack, as a rule, BTW. )

Come to think of it Hyack. You sleeping on the job, Bud? You missed the one about the shrinking polar bears. :)

Like typical Globalwarmongers who act more like a religion then anything scientific, all we're given is "It's real... Deal with it." all the while if and when they do supply information to back up their arguments, they're full of contradictions, errors or missing large chunks of information that should have been factored into everything.

And when actually challenged over something, they try and beat around the bush or simply go back to "It's Real, Deal with it." Stomping their feet and getting into a fit.

Your argument of "It already is very apparent and it will continue to get increasingly apparent with each year" is already wrong from the get go, since in the last 4-5 years, everything overall has been cooling down so much that even some of your Global Warming support buddies are trying to explain it away as "Global Cooling" and that GW is being put on hold for 10-15 more years.....

Like cripes.... these people didn't say anything about Global Cooling back in the early 2000's when Gore and the like were shoving Global Warming down our throats.

Nobody mentioned anything about Global Cooling as a possibility and only brought it up when all the trends of GW started to reverse.

Nice.

And besides all that.... the only real things that support Global Warming are random computer programmed scenarios and models.

And exactly how reliable are those models if those same models didn't factor in this "Global Cooling" and it never came up on the radar? People can't even predict the weather for next thursday.... what makes you think these computer models can predict what's going to happen 50-100 years down the road?

How about Hurricanes and their effects on the environment/climate?

Globalwarmongers keep talking about how GW is going to create more horrible and evil Hurricanes, yet they never factor in their function on the planet.... which is directly to counter Global heat increases in the oceans and air.

What about the Glacier Ice Core Data that shows a very long trend in earth's temps, and shows that between the creation of the Roman Empire and it's fall, global temperatures were even higher then they are today?

And they didn't even have industrial capabilities as we do today.

Face it... it's simple Climate Change.

It's not man made.... it's not global warming.

Humans may have a part in the intensity of Climate Change, but we never created it, nor can we change it in any manner that would be effective.

Seriously, if humans could stop "Global Warming" or "Global Cooling" or "Climate Change" ~ What would we change it to?

Would we change it all back to the way it was before?

What was it before?

What century, what era, what eon do we turn everything back to?

What is the goal??

Where is the set perfect-point of climate stability for Earth that we should all strive for?

The simple answer is there isn't one, because our climate has been constantly shifting and changing since the dawn of this planet's atmosphere..... long before we were even a puddle of genetic goo dripping off the edge of a volcanic rock.

In Earth's history, it has been a hell of a lot hotter then it is today, and it's been a hell of a lot colder then it is today.... that's the way she goes.

Yep as real as all the bad shit that was gonna happen because of Y2K.
Here's my main reason why I think it's bullshit. All of it.

It's still all about profits. Governments are screwing around with taxes based on carbon output. In Ontario, McGuinty will be taxing the actual electricity usage, NOT just the service.
And yet, solar power is a lot closer than many people realize. But governments won't invest in the technology to bring it along because then people will become more self sufficient and not need to use so much power from the main grid, if any at all. And governments can't make money that way.

Should we try and reduce the carbon emissions we send skyward? Hell yes, but solar technology is the best chance we have of doing that, not more taxes.

Look at the money spent in Iraq because there's oil there. If all of that money had been used for R&D of alternate fuel and energy sources, the US would have the new energy market totally cornered, for a while anyway.

It's a big scam. People are using a perfectly natural occurrance to creat fear for profit.

I have a chart that says it's getting cold. See? It goes down. And I've backed my chart with just as much substance as you did with yours. And mine has the line as blue so it looks colder.

Oh, do you mind if I use this as a rebuttal to all of YOUR arguments? Since this is a sufficient enough explanation for you on this topic then you won't mind if I just say this instead of bothering with any actual research to make my points, right?

Wasn't my chart Bart. I was posting in response to n_Fiddeldogs sarcasticly posted link. (Showing us the knee jerk response to natural phenomenon)

I was AGREEING. ;)

Read "The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism" by Naomi Klien.

It's a far larger scam than people suspect.

One of the things I've noticed is on media weather charts they've almost all shifted their color indexes to imply hotter weather.

For instance, KCRA in Sacramento used to show 70-79F as green in their weather charts and now it is yellow. The psychological impact is the public sees weather charts that contain warmer colors with a greater frequency. Thus some people believe that the weather is warmer when it's just that warmer colors are being used on the charts.

As an example here is today's weather chart from USA Today and they show 60F as a "warm" temperature.
