Uninspiring, boring and plain. Looks like they just got frustrated and said "screw it" and just threw a leaf on it and called it a day. I was going to buy one, but that is in doubt now.

I think it's pretty cool when you can actually see the images in the leaf, but as a few have said, does everything Canadian have to have something to do with natives?

It's an intricate logo, but you won't see it unless you are three feet from the thing. On TV or in the stands you will only see an outline in the shape of a plain leaf with nothing in the middle.

A Native artist. What a surprise. The BC Government has been paying them off even before the Olympic vote to prevent them from blockading the highway. Unfortunately even all the millions of dollars and new buildings and land we have given them for their Olympic support, there will still be road blockades.

why would they need to be consulted? a 3-4% of the population segment... why not add Scottish (15% of the population) Celtic designs to it... the Leaf represents the country and is fine to stand alone...

the comment I made regarding designs of this nature for lacrosse or any other native-associated sport is simple, with the Highland Games, you see scottish designs... would war-canoe racing be represented internationally with celtic knots?

Still much better than the summer olympic uniforms. As long as "O Canada" is played lots, it doesn't bother me much what the uniform looks like

I still think Bob Nichols got an email one day that went something like this.

So here we are, 24 months before the Olympic and we’ve sucked in the people again with the sweater change for the 08 hockey season. ( I can’t believe how people run out and replace their old ones every time we change them up ) We may be pressing our luck if we just up and introduce a new sweater for the 2010 Olympics. So what I’m wondering Bob is, can we some how put a bug in the IOC’s ear about enforcing their old rule, ( you know the one ) not allowing teams to use their federation’s logo. We can put all the blame on them. Sure we’ll protest, but not to much. Remember we’re in the business of selling sweaters, we don’t want to win this protest, but make it look like we‘re very disappointed. I’m putting in a order for 1.5 million sweaters. Make it work Bob.
