Stop spinning bullshit again.
He was a private citizen at the time.
What sales?

The whole investigation has been kept on the boil because the Libs are desperate some of it will stick to Harper. None of that's happening though. This whole thing has been a hugely expensive, political witch hunt.

A private citizen? Really?

$1:
Entering into an agreement while still in office to lobby the federal government on behalf of Schreiber would be an apparent violation of the ethics standards Mulroney implemented after taking power in 1984.

Mulroney told the commission he accepted $225,000 in cash from Schreiber to promote the sale of those vehicles internationally. He testified he didn't ask for cash and said there was nothing "sinister" in accepting it.

Mulroney admitted to taking the sum but not reporting the cash payments for income-tax purposes until six years after he started getting them.

Schreiber says.. Schreiber said anything possible to keep his ass out of jail in Germany and you Liberals paying for his Canadian vacation. Any proof? Any charges this time?

Only the Libs would jump into bed with a scheister like this, just to score some political points. It sure didn't work out though.

Hear hear....

Me Liberals? I'd probably give him $10 or so, if he was really hard up, but that's about it. We'll see if the report gets whitewashed this fall when it comes out.

The Liberals got in bed with him? Holy smokes, I thought the Liberals were married to the NDP.

The Liberals asked for an inquiry after Brian Mulroney sued the Government of Canada for defamation, when those things later were proven to be true. If that's what you call getting in bed.

yeah.. because in you're narrow little world, what Shreiber and Mulroney did in 1985 is somehow more important than what Chretien and Martin did in 2004 when Auditor General Sheila Fraser blew the whistle on ADSCAM.

Because somehow, $30,000 of Euro Arms dealers money is more valuable than $250 million of Canadian taxpayers dollars.

The Libs are desperate to keep this Mulroney witch hunt going, at any taxpayers cost, simply for political ends.

Chretien was found guilty? He admitted to taking cash stuffed envelopes and not reporting the revenue for 6 years? After swearing under oath that he never did take any money?

No wait, thats Mulroney. And it was multiple payments of $300,000 in cash. And a hell of a lot more was involved.

$1:
March 7, 1985: IAL signs a contract with Airbus Industrie whereby IAL receives commissions of up to three per cent for every plane sold to Canada. Pelossi will later say Schreiber set up the contract but did not sign it himself in order to obscure the money trail. Read the contract.

March 12, 1985: The Mulroney government fires the Air Canada board of directors and replaces them. One of the new appointees is former N.L. premier Frank Moores.

May 3, 1985: The federal government agrees to purchase helicopters for the Coast Guard from MBB.

Sept. 6, 1985: Moores resigns from Air Canada board after reports of a conflict of interest involving his lobbying firm, Government Consultants International (GCI), and rival airlines.

Mulroney wasn't found guilty and his countersuit paid for his legal costs the last time.
With no new information, facts, or witnesses, the Grits are trying it again.
Wonder what the countersuit will be this time.

ADSCAM was far bigger and far more damning.

The inquiry won't release it's report until later this year.

What's truly sickening is we have 3 major parties and nothing ever gets done anymore. All the time and money spent witch hunting, bickering and back stabbing could be put to MUCH better use. We have a fucking country to run here.
As far as I'm concerned, they should have their job descriptions changed to "prostitutes". After all, that IS the name given to the profession that gets paid to fuck people.
I wonder tho, how much taxpayer money has been wasted by the Liberals still chasing Mulroney. As much as I hate the goof, and convinced as I am that there was a serious conflict of interest in several areas of the Mulroney regime, the courts have absolved him of any wrongdoing. So quit wasting my money and get over it.
Let's see, about $5 billion dollars of taxpayer money just disappeared between ADSCAM and the Long Gun Registration debacle and I'm supposed to take the Liberals seriously cuz they refuse to give up chasing Mulroney? Hey, here's an idea, SPEND THE DAMN MONEY ON INVESTIGATING WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO OUR DOUGH WHEN THE CRETIN AND MARTIN HAD CONTROL!! Can you say porkbarreling??? I know ya can.

They did, but then he admitted that he lied to the courts.

"I never had never had any dealings with him."

"I never had sexual relations with that woman."

Someone has to find that funny.
