share the road ?

till then, fuck off and stay on the right side where you belong.

Hmmm, interesting. I feel the same way about 90% of motorcyclists...especially those dinks on Harleys who insist on gunning the engine every 10 seconds.

[B-o]

You ever notice when they pull up to an intersection they feel the need to rev their engines and look around to see if anybody else notices them.
They think the whole world is envious of them because they own a motorcycle

Really! whats the point of revving your engine?

Its like a kid putting bubble gum cards in the spokes of his bicycle.

It is my opinion that we can eliminate most bad cyclists when we introduce bicycle friendly policies and infrastructure.

exactly more money needs to be put into better cyclist infrastructure and education.

They already get a huge ammount of money, from the province and the feds.

If they want more money then they could set up a bicycle licencing system.
That gives them money and now they will have hard numbers how many bikes and where they live. Nothing can be controlled without numbers and simply guessing isn't good enough for my taxpayers dollars.

Why? most cyclists own cars as well so they already pay for vehicle licenses , road tax , property taxes, income taxes GST HST PST..lmonpst!. Why should they pay 2X? Taxes aren't segregated it's just one big kitty.

Are you going to license a 10 year old kid riding his bike in a residential neighborhood?

Cyclits are just another special interest group and it's impossible to quantify their "needs" without an accurate measure of their numbers.

Back when I learned to ride, they did have a licencing system.

Really? Did they make an 8 year old write a road test

Seriously though I know back in Calgary in the 60's I believe they also had a licensing system but that was only to trace lost property. Like a dog license.

How can you measure the numbers, most people own bicycles even though they might only ride them a couple of times a year, should those be included. How do you quantify a "cyclist"?

The number of licences can be counted and used to determine which municipality has the most cyclists. Based on numbers they can then then access services.

It's clear that the cyclists don't have any interest in licences, and why should they. They already get millions by doing nothing except civil insurection through the critical mass rides.

I know accountability just gets in the way of shoveling taxpayers money off a truck when it comes to buying votes.

I shiver at the thought that the same people that want to tax cyclists for parking their cars and SUVs would probably want to tax pedestrians by using their same rationale.

Well, at least some of them. I don't. Although I am a driver first, I am a pedestrian second, and a cyclist third.

I would consider taxing me as a pedestrian or cyclist as 'double dipping'.
