The only way is to search every vehicle that crosses, and not just a quick scan, you need to do a thorough search. This means that wait times at the border would be measured in DAYS or MONTHS, not minutes or hours.

Exactly. Canada will have a lane exclusively for guns coming into the country and the US will have one for drugs.

That should just about halve the wait at the border. Problem solved.
