He should have never answered the question but now because of the way he handled it the reaction has had a direct impact on the way the message of health care reform is being handled by the media. The message of health care reform has been derailed because Obama stepped in this. That's the harsh reality. To say the conversation on health care reform has not been affected by this sidebar is a misnomer.

Well got to give Obama some credit, when he makes a mistake. He admits it and apolizes for it.

Um...he didn't apologize. The article even stated as such. I think this article is an example of "Covering my ass before things really get bad", something all politicians share

Ever heard of sarcasm? Guess not.

So small gaffs that politicians make should be forgiven because the bigger picture is more important?
Obama should be forgiven because this is distracting from US health care issues?
Maybe Harper should be forgiven showing up late for a photo-op because he was working to pull Canada out of a depression?

I'm guessing that politics is going to get in the way of your answer.

You quoted Scape and if you don't knock off brocks dog crap you might just be joining him.

You are such a hypocrite its not funny. You bitch I was deflecting by mentioning Harper then you do. Not only that you deflect every criticism at harper onto the Libs and you are now trying to spin everything you can to be islamophobic even in threads not mentioning them.

Your assuming forgiveness when it is simple cause and effect going on. Spin.

Jon thinks he stepped in it, I think he has as well. I think forgiveness is a separate issue however. I'm not so inclined to forgive Obama for such an obvious misstep just like I would not forgive Harper for intentionally turning a G8 into crass domestic politics. Obama's gaff was worse because he made it policy not to talk about Iran's elections but he can about South American politics and domestic police actions? It was a bone headed statement.

Actually what he said was: "Obama, who had said police "acted stupidly""

How illiterate of you.

Of course there are no precedents of US cops acting with racial bias (and there are lots of them) or any precedents of the cops acting stupidly such as kicking in the wrong door and killing an innocent person.

Of course the fact that they came down hard on an innocent person doesn't count as "stupid" right?

No, in your mind the white cops made an honest mistake and the black president made a racist comment.

Does that about sum it up?

I know I shouldn't feed the trolls, but....

Look up these crackers MD:
Nathan Bedford Forrest
David Duke
George Wallace
and Lou Dobbs for starters.

Though, I have to warn you, you'll actually have to read something so don't say you weren't warned.
