That’s a little hypocritical, you don’t blame Colombia for protecting it’s own self interests but you do blame Chavez for trying to protect his country’s interests.
If the Americans are there because of the “War on Drugs” than what does anyone care if Venezuela has troops along it’s own boarder
Should be a non-issue, but it makes it a little harder for the US to snoop around along that boarder.
Why is it an issue? Oh, ya, you don’t like Chavez and putting his own troops along his own boarder makes it a little harder for the Americans to sneak around there.
Makes sense why you would be such a hypocrite.
Actually I haven't stated my opinion of Chavez placing his troops on the border, I have only stated my opinion of his irrational public outbursts and fearmongering that eclipses anything we've seen from North American powers on the issue.
He can do as he wishes with his troops in his country, it's his country.
As far as the US snooping along his border, well if it is indeed to stop drug flow and prevent Venezualan funding of militants and drug cartels then it's an admirable action and kudos to Columbia for giving up this small parcel of their land to do it. As far as pollitical or military spying goes, get real, average GI's on the border don't do this, CIA operatives and sympathisers in the country are the spies.
So branding me a hypocrite is not only biased on your end but just plain wrong.
