why dont we just have a ART festival, then if your gay or straight, or WTF ever, you can tell people when they check out your work. the worst thing we can do is make seperate classes, it doesnt work, because the majority always ends up with the smelly end of the stick.

Right on Mac, now were thinking. I find though that it's the special interest groups that push for the segregation in cases like these. They can't shine the light on their communities if they stand with everyone else.

ridenrain ridenrain: $1: An Industry Canada spokeswoman said in an email late Tuesday night that a "significant amount" of the total funding available had been granted to events in Quebec.
"Due to the fact that so many worthwhile festivals and events meet the criteria in Quebec, not all applicants will receive MTEP funding," wrote Christiane Fox.
"We encourage all qualified events to apply for next year." Sounds like they just exceeded the budget. Can't Quebec fund it's own events for once? Oh don't get started on that now, it's a whole other "Special Interest" group.

Be nice to have a full list of all events, parades, functions, and parties of this kind of nature. We should also list what funding is given to various special interest groups in general.
They might have a righteous argument when its all spelled out.

They might have a righteous argument when its all spelled out. They might at that but I doubt it. Between Quebec and the special interest groups theres probibly not alot of funding left over for the rest of us. I'm not even sayuing they shouldn't have their parties as far as thats concearned, but why does it have to be funded. I'm sure if someone in their community took the initiative they could fundraise on their own, I mean the boy scouts do, sports teams and such so....

I'd just like the government to publish a list showing all funding of this type and how much and then we will have all the evidence needed to make a proper detemrination if some groups are getting hosed and others aren't. I'd kinda like to know just where all the tax dollars are going anyway.

There needs to be more funding for gay art. Then maybe we could all understand what it means.

Personally I don't think the government (any government) should be funding any of this or that or what have you.

I wonder what kind of reaction I would get If I ran an hetrosexual arts festival.
I'm an artist, I guess I cant partake in this gay art festival though. Artist that rely on the government for funding means only one thing = their art sucks.

$1: But Mr. Clement said Wednesday there had been an “avalanche” of applications under the $100-million Marquee Tourism Events Program and decisions had to be made.
He noted that Quebec received about 42 per cent of the total funds, roughly the same as the province of Ontario.
“I think we've been treating Montreal and Quebec very fairly, but it's also important for us to fund other things outside of Montreal, and outside of the province of Quebec, so we have some regional fairness,” Mr. Clement said in Red Deer, Alta. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/pol ... le1227693/So Quebec and Ontario take aproximately 80% of the funding just by themselves? Isn't that a load of bullshit. Sounds good Derby. let's get this accountability thing started so your Liberals can follow the rules if you ever get back in power.

ridenrain ridenrain: They'd pobably be able to secure funding if they weren't parading around nakid. It's pretty stupid to demand money while their breaking the law. Hmm... guess you haven't heard,,, nudity isn't against the law.. there is no reason, no reason they should be refused.. but like I say there are millions of lesbian and gay, bi and transgendered out there.. my brother is working with the Vancouver pride association and he said the word will be put out there..
