Lemmy Lemmy: Thanos Thanos: Morgentaler's an evil mass murderer, and to politely avoid a side-track/trainwreck that's the last thing I'm going to say about it. I say he's a civil rights champion and the Supreme Court of Canada agrees with me. That's the last I'll say also to avoid that collision...on this thread. I'm guessing we'll tango on this one at a later date. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif) Mass murderer????? It doesn't warrant a "tango" now or later. That's just wrong.

Yes you got to wonder how he was judged for it , surely not on his honesty as with most politician they do not know the word Honor.

kenmore kenmore: Ah bout time.. M.Chrétien one of the three best PMs in Canada ever.. King, Trudeau and Chrétien. At least the Royalty knows something good when they see it! Maybe not, it could be that Buckingham Palace had shares in Shawinigate, which wouldn't suprise me. Either way, your list is more than a little biased.

Kind of funny when you reflect on the fact that many Liberals are definately not monachists.

So, take the opinion of a guy who is non-partisan:
1. Macdonald was the most corrupt PM in history...HANDS DOWN, but we'll give him a pass 'cause that's how politics was done in the 19th century. 2. Mulroney comes in at #2. What kind of a man sues his own country on the way out? And, he was GUILTY. And he's STILL lying about it. 3. Chretien/Martin...same shit, different dude...lining the pockets of his buddies. They both rank below Mulroney because, corrupt though they were, at least Jean and Paul weren't lining their OWN pockets, unlike Mulroney.
So, it's two blues and two reds in the "Corruption Stakes". Conclusion: all politicians are thieves and liars, scumbags and douchebags, when they aren't kissing babies they're stealing their damn lollipops. Put down your partisan ramparts, both of your parties are as crooked as a dog's hind leg.

I think there are lots of torys and NDP who are not monarchists. But any how, he deserves this. He was on of the 3 greatest PMs ever.

Facts of what? What did he do to deserve this again? The only reason why he wasn't dound guilty of anything was because he used the RCMP like private police and had decades worth of court and judge appointments to cover his ass. He was the textbook of a corrupt PM.

Ask Her Royal Highness the Queen. Obviously she found him worthy.. Maybe it was his digging us out of the hole Mulroney put us in. Maybe Ignatieff will be the next recipient by digging us out of the mess and financial despair harper has plunged us into.. He was an excellent Prime Minister and Great Canadian. And your right he wasn't guilty of anything... end of story.

kenmore kenmore: And your right he wasn't found guilty of anything... end of story. Not being found guilty and innocent of all charges are not always the same thing. As for your 3 greatest PM list. Two of them did more for the separtist cause than any other PM in our history. I'll let you figure out which two.

It's got nothing to do with politics or even merit but everything to do with the impression he made with the royals when they came to visit. $1: The two first met during Canada's Centennial Year in 1967 when he was a junior minister and she was a young Queen. But it was during the Queen's nearly week-long visit to northern Canada in 1970 that they really got to know each other.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/pol ... le1216381/As usual, it's not what you do or how well you do it, but how much you can suck up.

It's a personal decision of the queen, based on somthing that happened a long time ago. She can give it to whoever she wants and that's fine with me. I object to Chretien's politics and definately don't want people thinking that he got it because he was so honest and such a clean prime minister.
