Priest: Please, Mr. Harper, you must eat the bread
Harper: No, I'm not Catholic
Priest: But you're in our house of worship, and as they say: "When in Rome..."
Harper: You're not going to fuck me in the ass after mass either.

(that last line rhymed, I know)

That's not controversial either, that's just needlessly violent.

newfette newfette:
this is lame. catholic law or not its all the same god. if he wants to take communion thats his choice...

and i dont even like the bugger

Actually, it isn't his choice.

Within a Catholic church, Their rules apply and should be respected like one should when visiting a religious culture or their churches. If you don't respect other's beliefs, then why should anybody respect your's?

As it goes, only Roman Catholics are allowed to accept communion. Harper is Protestant last I checked.

It would been more respectful if he just stayed seated like what everybody else does. Even some Roman Catholics don't go up if they don't want to.

I know... all trivial crap and really doesn't matter in the run of our days, but I figured I'd comment regardless.

And no, while I grew up RC, I am no longer a follower of any of the main relgions.

They're all full of sillyness.

Although I see the humor you are attempting, your above post is inaccurate. (See previous post)

I am aware of this, but I usually respond in a literal sense. Joke or not, I have a tendency of still correcting errors.

And I'd expect the same form anybody else.

It;s a no-win from the media standpoint.
He didn't take the wafer so he's in trouble or he takes the wafer and he's a hypocrit to his own religion, and both are win/win stories for the media. Then somebody asks the PMO and they say something without checking the video..

Who cares.

This is comming from a media that has no religion or morality. They'd rather investigate the religious beliefs of the science minister than the theft of taxpayers money. Slow news day or what?

This is Warren Kinsella's doing, once again. The Liberal media-hack who brought you Barney the dianosaur to slam Day is now setting himself up as Miss. Religious Manners. It's just another example of how he's losing his grip on a changing Canada.

Blaming the Libs again.

Considering that he was under fire from a conservative catholic priest I'd say you are blaming the wrong party.

The media reports on anything and they were as bad if not worse on the Libs. If Harper doesn't want the public scrutiny then he is free to step down as PM.
