ridenrain ridenrain:
No. The PMO has too much power and since all MPs are beholden to him, they won't cross the floor or vote according to the wishes of their riding, lest they get run our of that one horse town called Ottawa.
Canadians need to pay more attention and hold these people accountable but that's still only every 4 years.

I agree with you. That's something the US is better than us. The executive and representative powers are not enough separated.

Sorry, but the Reform party although they had some good policies were a little too out there for most Canadians and a lot of people seen them as too far right and a little bit racist. but then timining is everything.. We all know that the current parliament system needs overhaul.

ridenrain. Jean Chrétien was a very good leader and excellent PM. He was assertive. Harper on the other hand is an egoist, autocratic narcissistic control freak who muzzles his caucus and shuts out Canadians. and even his own party is giving him a second thought. Maybe there will be a review of him as well as Flaw hurty..

And I can’t stand either of them. Chretien was probably as much of an ass in the backrooms as Harper is in public.

$1:
Disturbing. Disappointing. Harmful. Infuriating.

It’s hard to argue with that assessment. Even when the Liberal Rat Pack was at its raunchiest, it can’t hold a candle to the collection of disrespectful jerks in the house at the moment. The present PM seems to thrive on the gotcha style politics, and actually supports the whole attack style year round publicity spin the Conservatives have become known for.

I seriously miss the smarter crowd that used to be able to form a sentence and call their opponents an ass without ever using the word or reverting to the childish Baird style rant.

"Assertive" is an interesting description for "trying to strangle someone."
