If this goes to an election, I wouldn't bet on either side at this point. The only thing I'd take into account is do we want another minority government at all right now? Liberal or Conservative.

The secret bathroom tapes already told us how un-supportive the bankers were with Iggy's coalition plans so I doubt anything has changed, expecially with the economy starting to turn.
Nor can I see a slogan of "3 more months to really huge spending".

RUEZ RUEZ:
I'd be curious to see how well the NDP and Bloc would work with an Iggy government.

Very well I suspect.. both are closer to the left in policy and Quebec has always faired better with the liberals.

If the liberals force an election, I'll bet the farm on the Conservatives. Remember that stimulus package that's due to kick into effect as early as next year do you ?

We dont want to be responsible for derailing that do we ?

The thing is, the last time the Liberals formed the government they didn't get much co-operation from them either. Don't know why it would be different now.

Well I think with M. Ignatieff as PM Duceppe and Charest would be able to work better with the feds in Ottawa. Quebecers are ready to dump harper and the libs are gaining popularity again. Even if most don't want an election they will turf the torys. And even the tory party are fed up with him.

You have anything to back that up? I know the polls are starting to favour the Libs, but other than the usual whiners I don't see anyone calling for Harpers resignation.

"Mr. Ignatieff's move today was perfect. Just what we had to do. The ball MUST be put in Harper's court, as the focus MUST be put back on him.

Some Conservatives will claim that this offers Harper a "podium". Yes it does... And we know what he does with podiums. He's a "f up". He'll either look contrived, robotic, and plastic (ie: fake), or he'll look like the angry partisan jerk that he is. I believe the latter will be true." quoted.

I wouldn't exactly call Tom Flanagan harper's mentor a whiner.. will find his comments and post them.

Quebecers are ready to dump anyone who doesn't beg at their feet and tell them they're so special with mountains of cash.

Spend a little cash on Quebecers and they'll follow the money; as shallow as they are.

Well gee wiz, it looks like ol Iggy is backing away from that tough rhetoric of his and seems to be taking a much softer position on the whole “report card” thing. Who would have thought. I wonder if he was this easy on his students when he was teaching. Poor old Warren Kinsella must be clutching his chest right about now.
