All this right-wing bleating is just retribution because a few of them posted crap from blogs and got nailed for it. Their hypocrisy in this 'issue' is well known...

That's the price you pay for participating in a forum run by a card-carrying Liberal.

lol It IS too conservative (but slowly getting better). Trev is a very tolerant guy, IMO. Hence why he should be indulged if he posts a newslink that isn't to the liking of Conservative members.

Whether its allowed to be submitted under "news" or "opinion" doesn't matter to me.

I put on my pantaloons the same way these guys do, except when I do it I make gold records.

Flipping out over "opinion" vs "news" is stupid anyway. Most of the good bloggers and columnists have enough of a credentialled pedigree in legitimate journalism that they're just re-writing "news" anyway. Beside, opinion pieces generate more good bloodfeuds on forum boards than straight news does, so I say post all the opinion pieces you want if it helps to keep these place lively.

OPINION is not news.

Your opinion may not be, but after being PUBLISHED in the Washington Post, I think it qualifies as news.

Why is it you guys have such difficulty with it being a double standard? It was published as an opinion piece therefore according to the rules of the CKA it should be labeled as opinion and not be posted in the news section.

comprende?

Actually opinion articles with actual relevant facts and figures to back up the opinion are and should be just as good as legitimate news articles.

Opinion articles that claim Obama was born in Godknowswhere and the ones that claim that us Lefties are retards and homos without actual physical evidence and facts are just not news.

Hence the claim "facts have a liberal bias"...when you post an opinion without fact it is usually hatred or misinformation being spewed by the right.

When someone has an opinion and backs it up with honest numbers and facts you can bet it is opinion from the left.

However this is just my opinion and as you may well be aware it is not backed up with any actual figures, numbers or facts. So it is true that from time to time lefties post opinion that does not qualify as news...however in this post I am not bound by the news/opinion rule that someone somewhere has imposed.

It is a fact though that this is my opinion. So ya, if you’re sitting on the right please spare us your non-newsworthy opinions. It may be a double standard, but rightfully so.

Comprende?

How does this article reflect poorly on Conservatives? Look at the charts, if anything it accredits them. The only people who may not like it would be Republicans from down south or even Democrats who keep calling for increased spending and taxation. It shows diligence on the part of both parties, Conservative and Liberal, in raining in spend while continuing to support core social programs.

It's more of a "Canaian vs American" article if anything.

Nope, I didn't complain. I said it was hypocritical of some of you to bitch about Trev bending the rules on news posting, yet when he bent the rules on Hyack's medal, all most of you did was attack Streaker for pointing that out.

From the same thread...not bitching, just pointing out your hypocrisy. A fine point, but even one you should be able to figure out.
