Did they say they wanted to encroach on our claim? I either missed that or it was not there.

You may have missed it as you searched to undermine Canada at every opportunity.

I thought not.

Please read several times before attempting to reply, and I quote“The presence and potential escalation of armed conflicts __near Russia’s national borders__, pending border agreements between Russia and several neighbouring nations, are the major threats to Russia’s interests and border security,” stated the document, which analysed security threats up to 2020."

Well, them deploying a few regiments into the Arctic and building new airbases up there just means they are watching for global warming eh?

Wada, you just love to be anti-establishment but appear to know nothing. Do you actually know more about the Russian claims on our Arctic than you do about the Mohawks and their land grants from the Revolutionary War?

The North West passage is purely Canadian, just look at a map. Europe especially the French have real brass balls if theye think they have artic ownership rights to Canadian territory.

Pseudonym Pseudonym:
Has the US made any claims to the Arctic? I haven't heard anything through my limited media outlets.

You hear about the US claiming the NW Passage as an international waterway.
You DON'T hear about the US claiming the Yukon/Alaska boundary takes a big jog from it's defined straight path, just to screw us for a tiny slice of possible drilling/fishing rights. That's hushed up for years, but you'll never here our national politicians speak of it.
They're too busy rattling wooden swords at countries that haven't actually claimed our territory....
