Blue_Nose Blue_Nose:
Why stop there, what about something to recognize the southern border? "From sea to sea to sea to America?"

That only defines the country in two dimensional space, though, so after that we'll go to the volumetric motto, and finally the spacetime motto. After that it'll be something weird relating to string theory or quantum mechanics.

$1:
All three territorial premiers in 2006 pushed for the change, arguing that a three-seas motto would more fully acknowledge Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Yukon as equal partners in Confederation.
Um, the territories have coastlines along the "sea" - if anyone should feel left out, it's the provinces that don't have coastlines at any sea, like Saskatchewan.

And we can't forget those Canadians of convenience that live in other countries. So we'll change it to "From sea to sea to sea to those with no sea and those that live between other seas"
Doesn't Iggy have anything better to worry about than crap like this?

He won't make promises that Canadians won't accept. One of the reasons Canadians don't back concrete measures to support our sovereignty in the north is simply a lack of consciousness that the north even exists.

Acknowledge the north in the motto and that consciousness goes up just a tiny little bit.

How many Canadians even know that our motto is "from sea to sea"? If you did a survey I think you'd be "surprised".

What is changing a little known motto really going to accomplish?

Not a great deal, I imagine. But I fail to see any downside to it and do see a modest upside.

So why not update the motto?

He responded to an email, his greatgrandfather was the driving force behind the original motto. It probably took 30 seconds to reply and now he is somehow ignoring all of the relevant issues that we face. Is this really all the mud you guys have got to throw ? I launched spitballs with more weight than this.

Right and when Harper chose "Stand up for Canada" as the Conservative motto, that was purposeful, meaningful branding ?

That was a party slogan, not the national anthem.

Gee.. who was it that came up with this one:
Image
Didn't the Liberals brand everything with this logo when they were in power?
What was it before?

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
No other nation in the world has a continental Sea-to-Sea-to-Sea other then Canada.

You mean like the Pacific Sea, Atlantic Sea and Arctic Sea?

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Hurrah! I've always wanted this! It would make it more Canadian. No other nation in the world has a continental Sea-to-Sea-to-Sea other then Canada.

I always use the 3 seas. I use it commonly. I don't think i ever just simply ay "From Sea to Sea"...

I've met people who think the "From Sea to Sea" thing is about the USA.
That's true, we also have the largest coastline in the world, so something like this might work Canada: Now that's one big fricken coastline eh. :D Not sure of the latin translation though.

Oh! You're right!

It should be changed to "From Ocean to Ocean to Ocean".

Why dosen't Iggy just change it to..
"O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
..."

That way, we won't screw up and forget the words.. :D
