Well, let's stop playing fast and loose with the extremes, then.
I am absolutely no expert on the various different classifications for immigrants. I know there are landed immigrants, citizens, and a host of others.
I have no quarrel with people who come here from another country that speak a different language and staying here for the rest of their lives without learning English or French. And I also have no issue with broadcasts on TV and radio in other languages - even people who have another language as their first probably enjoy such broadcasts.
But I do wonder if it's unreasonable to expect at least some level of competency in one of English or French to become a Canadian citizen.
I'd like to expand, but unfortunately, I must go.
