Tricks Tricks:
I wonder how much garbage this is going to create.

Alot, 1/2 a million peel off sticks will be littering the landscape in no time.

Does anyone else see the irony in using "plastic" stickers to protest oil consumption?

I tell ya. Peal the stickers loose and push them into parking meters and these enviromental retards will be paying to get them all fixed.

Hence my question. I don't think they thought this through.

Its more about the bigger picture here. If these guys are allowed then where does it end? You could put anything on if it "can be flicked off with a finger".
Well, then I am going for a "Steven Harper, Not A Leader," in blue sticker    !

You should. In fact I think the Liberals should spend the last of their money on that idea.

Just to stir shit up I was talking to a senior about quarters and told him about the 'breast cancer support one' that had a nipple on it. Then I handed him one of the vet ones with the red poppy and he just glanced at the damn thing and went off his rocker about the gov't putting porno on our money..... :D
I let him take it to show others the porno quarter and never saw him again.... muah hah hah....

But if it is just a sticker that can be "flicked off" is it really defacing the coins?

Its better then taking a sharpie and drawing over the whole coin making it black.

yes it is defacing them altering in anyway=defacing. Whats next "go veg" stickers on them or maybe "i like peta".

Maybe you forgot we have something called freedom of speech. Personally I'm fan of the idea. They are not damaging the coins. The government has every right to ask them to stop but if they are not damaging the coins let them speak.

That's Democracy.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe thr right to pull stupid PR stunts is enshrined in our constitution. If they have something to say I'm sure they can say it without the use of 1/2 a million stickers that are made from the very product they are protesting and will end up floating around on our streets.
