What people seem to forget is that if the Conservatives don't pass the Igmeisters probation clause, a coalition isn't the only option.
Option number two is another general election, which seems more likely than the Iggy climbing in bed with Jackie and Duceppe. The Liberal party is broke, in debt and probably don't want another election till they get their house in order.
Plus, they have the luxury of being able to blame the whole depression, recession or whatever you want to call it on the Conservatives, without ever having to expose their own plan for economic recovery.
So in fact it's almost a win win situation for the Liberals, since they can escape the stink of coalition of the damned, embarass the Conservatives, get their finances in order and pick the time of their choosing to try and bring down the house.
The only problem with that theory will be Duceppe, who has come out and said he won't try another coalition with the Liberals and NDP again. So he may back the Conservatives even if the Liberals do try and bring down the government.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see if the Conservatives pass muster, or if Iggy was just playing for time.
