That's a good question.

Well, its not that hard to get that "attitude".
When you are being told regularly that services are not "serviced" here, because the funding is not sufficient, your kids get denied ESL classes, because the funding isn't there, potholes haven't been filled for ever, and you read a story about the "bad weather and closed schools due to snowfall" while we have had an average of a ft a day... Don't ya think it is pretty easy to think the LM is kinda... whining about nothing?

You think I was used to snow? Not really. Do you hear me bitch about it? Not really. Shit happens.

My feeling is the funding should go where there's a need. How much of a need is there for funded ESL classes in your school district?

But the rest of your post sounded exactly like what you're complaining about.... you've never lived here, yet you're free to join in with the complaints because that's what you do there.

I get it now.

we have 1 ESL teacher for 2 Schooldistricts. How many newcomers do you think are here, when the one ESL teacher does not have time to teach ESL?

I am not complaining at all. I was explaining my "attitude" that I have according to you.

I'm glad you get it. Saves me from doing some more explaining

So? That means 90% of the money should go there?

tell Gordo to put some retractable domes over the potholes, like a set of rain sensing windshield wipers

Seriously, pot holes are unavoidable any time you have freeze and thaw cycles. We had our share back in the days of real Chinooks. Pothole Patrol call 311.

The one claim to fame I remember about the now retired Superintend of Roads for the City of Red Deer was that he never paid out 1 claim, while he held the job for 21 years.

It’s not very smart for a municipality to get into that game.

I think I graded every county road in central Alberta and the oil and gas companies paid for the whole shot.

You want to move in a big rig on the banned road?

Then you grade it.I remember the farmers chasing me down thinking i was a county guy.
Everyone wants their road graded. XD
