Fact of the matter is, he hasn't stated he's been in a firefight, and not many of our troops xly have.

AC is correct - when you're in a firefight it's exactly that - no one gives a rat's about who on the 'other' side gets shot - the objective is the mission, and getting your sorry arse out in one piece - along with your mates, natch.
