Lolz if the Capers lose their accent, THEN maybe. Although you have to have a good ear now to tell the difference between the dialects. There is more Gallic in the Capers.

My room mate for a year at camp was a Caper,him and the newfie never stopped going at each other with insults and practical jokes and pet names like "codzilla" and "Flatlander" for each other.

That's when I realized there is quite a rivalry going on.

I remember when I was a kid, you could go to different parts of the island and have a hard time understanding the locals in that area. There were a small range of accents on the island then.
I think the accent has softened and become more uniform accross the island in recent generations.
