Is a tall midget still a midget? Harper was willing to say and do anything to get elected, and now will say and do anything to remain in power.

$1:
Poll

Do you think Canada would be better served by a coalition government?

Yes
18.22 %

No
81.78 %

http://www.globaltv.com/globaltv/national/index.html

An election now would vapourize the Liberals and NDP. The new parliament would be polarized, Quebec-ROC.

An election would at last crystallize 250 years of history and Canada will again be geographically altered for the first time in 60 years.

There is not a snowball's chance in HELL that GG Jean will allow for an election to occur given that the Liberals appointed her.

Cool, let's start our own party!

I don't care for any of them at the best of times, nevermind right now!

Oh come on Scape. The partisan stuff is falling by the wayside.
None of us are impressed with our 'leaders'.
They are all wankers.
As the manufacturing core of Ontario crashes they bicker and stab each other like Ceasar in the Senate.

Et tu Scape?

Anyone know if it's true that part of the price for Bloc support was an immediate $1 billion to Quebec?

I only caught a bit of Mike Duffy and some Bloc rep.

The bloc has agreed to support the coalition as has the green party. The bloc signed the agreement that has an addendum that has the interest of Quebec in it. They have agreed to support them for 18 months and in that time there will be a new liberal leader to replace M.Dion. What the press and the sky is falling people avoid mentioning is that there will be a different leader in May. A coalition is good ( in my opinion ) right now and is needed because M. Harper is a one man show and refuses to work with the other parties even though he only has a minority. If he did what he promised before the house convened and worked with the others in a coalition fashion to come up with an economic plan that would be in the best interest of the country and each province things may have gone differently. Mr Dion is being accused of trying to grab power and is portrayed as a power hungry man. The opposite is true. Remember he resigned and agreed to stay on until another leader is chosen. He will only be in the PMs chair until May. Mr Harper is viewed by many and myself as an autocrat and now his own members are saying the same thing.. He himself wants to hang on to power and if he is unwise enough to suspend parliament to hold on to it, the public will be pissed because we cannot afford parliament to delay the business of the country especially in a recession.

Thought you were a Lib supporter Trit?

I was NDP, up until they decided to completely ignore the election results and take over the gov't.

The Liberals want to rewrite the rules after they lost. They had been in power for how many years and never changed the Canadian electorial system for the better..

I do not agree with this tactic and think that it is illegal and an attempt to over throw an elected government.

All Canadian's should be outraged... this walks on the gaves of those who fought and died for this country and sets a dangerous precedence for Canadian politics.

Agreed!!! PDT_Armataz_01_37

Now its time for the citizens of Canada to take back what is rightfully ours...The Government, all leaders should be removed and start from square one. In these times, when all parties should put partisanship aside and work towards making the country stronger, they are looking out for number one. Egos are at play here and nothing more. Thousands are losing their jobs in this country and they still collect a taxpayer paycheque. They are all a disgrace.
