For sure and I think they were related to belemnites or ammonites before they went extinct.I collect Ammonites which are basically a coiled squid with a shell,or was.
I have many of their fossilized tentacles and pics of some I have found over 1 meter in width even though it's rumoured theres a few around Fernie BC that are around 6 feet wide or bigger.
