Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: Yes I would. Plus, it's a simple fix to explain your card getting lost. A bit harder to explain to your wife/girlfriend that you lost your phone with naked pictures of her on them. $1: Don't trust people to return your things. Don't trust them to keep them safe.
You have to keep your own crap safe.
Besides, my wallet currently contains about 6 dollars in debt on the two cards in it, I like to keep my cash at home, not in a bank.
If I left my MP3 player at a hotel, I definitely do not expect to see it again.
Also, if I realized I had lost something, I'd rush back to see if it was still there, immediately. I wouldn't leave it in the "trust" of another person.
Fuck, I don't even loan shit out to my friends. You've got to be smart. I'd agree with a few more sentiments here. Don't trust people with anything. They won't care for it like you would. They didn't pay for it. Why would they care if they scratched it, damaged the screen, etc etc. It's not their property. Sure that might sound a bit...cold, but it's true. I mean, I don't care to lose a few bucks, or like, even something replaceable and something that won't really fuck you over. But I would NEVER EVER leave my laptop anywhere, considering I have pictures, my novels, and other things I can't replace or would damage my or someone else's reputation if they got out.

Let me ask you guys this then, ComKai and MrC... What if YOU find a phone, wallet, laptop or whatever, what do you do? Check it out (and/or fool around in it), leave it be, or return it?

Speaking for myself, I would return it because that's what I hope someone would do were the situation reversed. But, I'm with Mr. C ( ). I always treat my stuff with care and make sure I never leave it behind. As much as I'd like to believe someone would return it, I go under the assumption that that won't happen.

Sapio Sapio: Why would you leave picture like that on your cell? It case somthing like this happens. Why not? Isn't it freakin sad that people do not have the decency to think twice and not put those pics on the internet?

Check it out (and/or fool around in it), leave it be, or return it? Return it to who? The street? A wallet is easy, since it'd have ID and I can just drop it off in their mailbox or whatever. The phone and laptop, I'm not sure. I can either return it, or check the phone to see if there is an ICE number in which can pick up the phone and deliver it for me. Same with the laptop. I can either check for a name or personal email somewhere, or I can return it to a company if it's a company laptop. Plus, don't cells have locks? I wouldn't keep something that's not mine, but I'm a realist, I wouldn't expect something lost to be returned.

No, my cell doesn't. Return it to the service desk, call a number in the cell that says "home" or something...
But, you too, would not fool around in it and post the pics on the internet, right?
Then WHY do we concider it "normal" that someone else does? And WHY do we not expect to get our items returned if we loose it?

Then WHY do we concider it "normal" that someone else does? And WHY do we not expect to get our items returned if we loose it? I'm considering it normal because people are stupid. One of my friends had a naked picture of his girlfriend as his background picture of his cellphone. He's an idiot. If he left his cell, and somebody, who is probably just as stupid, opened it to call home or whatever, then BOOM sees that, he'd probably get curious and look around. I would not personally, no. I'm not like that, but I make sure I wouldn't leave something as valuable as my laptop somewhere in which idiots might touch it. Even when I sent my computer for repair, I delete ALL chat logs and pictures that might get me into trouble, or damage my reputation. Listen, a 16 year old teenager at McDonald's isn't exactly the smartest person on the planet. He's probably like "heheheheh" And then BOOM, he sent the pictures to a few friends and they put them online. It's not his girlfriend, why would he care? And now McDonalds is getting punished collectively for one stupid employee, and that is wrong.

I fine with people doing that, I fine with pretty much anything people what to do, but if you leave them on your phone you should know that they may become public some day. If they do not mind that then it is no big deal.

That's funny, there is a lot of discussions about it being ethical or not. I would instead like to see the actual pics.

$1: when I lend something, money or stuff, I don't "expect" to get it back. If I do, it's a bonus. Same with the condition it's returned in. If I can't afford to replace it or lose it, I don't lend it out
I couldn't agree more, and because of that.. certain things, regardless of cost, i just dont lend out
