Or... he will make the changes that regular schmucks like you and me think are great ideas, run our economy straight into the ground, and everyone will think monarchies are really a good idea after all.

The first year everyone will like him. After that everyone will wonder why he's not listening to them and making these huge policy changes. They will once again curse America for being redneck and backward.

Let's not be too hasty. He might not do too badly. I'd hate to have to eat some humble pie if things work out for him.

I'll go ahead and eat it. :D Seriously, it doesn't matter if it's a Republican or Democrat, people will always hate America. That will not change until there is someone who has as much influence as us and that they don't like.

I've had a few slices of that in my time here. It's not too bad. I recommend a slice for everyone.

it wont be a less arrogant America, it will be an absent America.
They will now turn inward.

They will have to turn inward to try and fix the mess left by 8 years of Bush.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Congratulations Barack Obama... We all love you!

Remember, this is the guy who said that if he heard of Al Qaeda inside of Pakistan, a US ally, he would not bother asking them for permission before launching attacks inside of Pakistan.

http://www.reuters.com/article/domestic ... 6420070801

$1:
Obama said if elected in November 2008 he would be willing to attack inside Pakistan with or without approval from the Pakistani government, a move that would likely cause anxiety in the already troubled region.

"If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will," Obama said.

But since Obama is one of yours I guess this isn't 'arrogance'.

You'd be surprised how many people back Obama just because he is a Democrat and African American without knowing or caring where he stands on "the issues".

Ignorance at its finest IMO.

I think we should start a pool. Guess the date when Fox News first suggests that Obama should be impeached. What we are going to get, over the next year, is the far right working desperately to find some point to dig at Obama with and consolidate the moral indignation of the the selfrighteous. After they get their new "hummer in the Oval Office" we will hear about nothing else for the next three years.

not so sure about that.
the Republicans got beat up pretty bad last night,
and have no control in Congress either.

Just like our Liberal party here, the Republicans need to take some time
and have a look at themselves for a bit, and make some changes.

A dead person could've won against Kerry in 2004. Had Hillary or Biden or just about anyone else run for the Dems in 2004 I don't think we'd have seen a second term for Bush.
