OPEC really doesn't control prices. Sure they can stop investing in their oil infrastructure, but that has to do with bad governmental policies involving subsidies. I really doubt any country will cut production because it means less cash for them. They will want Saudi to take the cuts, but even then, so much supply has been knocked out a 1-2 million barrel cut won't do any good. Just watch and see which country has riots first.

At least down to stratospheric levels here. $117.9

BTW F.O.A.D. you're getting ripped off 15 - 20c/L in BC and your still snivelling about two cents carbon tax? Election's over, time to can the B.S. until the next one.

Because it won't remain at 2 cents and it's a useless measure to try and reduce ghg's. Consider this, gas has gone from 1.46 in pg to about 1.12, so basically that two cents that Campbell added has been erased so wouldn't that mean that his attempt at curbing green house gases has now been nullified? A carbon tax will not make one slight difference to the environment, all it does is create more hardship for drivers.

Of course we are still snivelling and will continue to do so until the govt here in Ab. gives us our due right, and comes around at least twice per week to fill up all our vehicles, yard equipment and 'toys' as well as our jerry-cans. Personally, I think that Ab. should DOUBLE all export costs, ( as in any gas exported outside of OUR province. In that way all Albertans would rightly get their fuel for free!!! A wise man once said "Let 'em eat cake"!

I'm used to the fuel shortages every year.
