This would be the same Christian Identity that condoned the abuse of children in the care of parish priests for so many years. I just can't understand why people would be skeptical of religion.

I feel sorry for the Pope. He's surrounded by atheists and Muslims. Not many Christians left in Europe. Really should move the Vatican to Brazil. Though it isn't surprising to see the Catholic Church in decline. Unless they are a solidfying force, they have to adapt to change. Getting those priests out of jail for molesting children does nobody favors. Stuff like them having families and wives wouldn't break the camels back.

Also explain the rise of Protestism as well.

Seconded, poor religous groups. Losing people to give them money, and people they can boss around and tell what is what.

If I wanted somebody to boss me around, tell me what I should do and how to live my life. I would move to China.
