$1:
I could order a military clerk to asssit in disarming a bomb, if they refused they could very easily see jail time.

I'd have to disagree with that, unless the clerk had demolitions training. If he blewed up reeaall good you'd be in serious shit, and be facing jail time. They could be ordered to secure the area and assist.

Not every soldier will be, but every soldier could be, is the point we are trying to make though. I not putting anyone down, to say that my job is more difficult then your adverage canadian career is just stating a fact.

So in other words... not every soldier will be told to jump into the Bering Sea at 3am.

Never met a 'soldier' who has.

It would have to be a drastic situation though. I guess being a breaching assistant would be a better example. They would still have to handle blocks of C4 and need to rush into a room with armed combantant after I blew a hole in the wall.

It would have to be in the service industry, making roughly 45 000 a year right?

Im just trying to figure out what the average Canadian Career would be though. I’m not looking down on anyone, or any one’s job. Saying a military career is more difficult is not putting anyone down, being a carpenter in the military and being a carpenter on the street are both difficult jobs. A military carpenter has more expectations put on her/him so it is slightly more difficult; both are equally as skilled and have the same amount of respect.

exactly. an electrician on board a ship has his duties as an electrician, a member of a ship's company and as a member of the Royal Canadian Armed forces. He's a member of a watch, rescue watch, could be a ship's diver, a damage control/firefighting team and or a member of a naval landing and boarding party, as well as being an electrician. They are expected to know their job and enough about other's jobs to be able to fill in if required.
