Nah, I've been scared of Harper since he was running the NCC's attempts to rob us.

CBC did the right thing since the comments went beyond the realm of opinion and drifted into libel based upon falsehood with a dash of character assassination tossed in just to spice things up.

robmik43 robmik43:
A thread ostensibly about the CBC apologizing for
Moron Mallick's libelous treatment of Sarah Palin,
morphs into yet another hapless soapbox for the Harperphobes.
You folks' maudlin fear of Harper means he has already won.
[B-o]
I'm lovin' it....

Harperphobes, gee I had no idea Harper was running for U.S. Politics.

President Harper/VP Palin. 8O

Correct...you have no idea....
It was your Fellow Traveler, "Rev" who brought Harper
into this thread, tritium, not I.
Is it all moving too quickly for you...?

If you want nothing but mandated cheer-leading, Rev, you better go back to you're own little echo chamber. You just sound sad and pathetic when you try that crap here.

The CBC only hires people who act and think like they do so nothings going to change unless theres a big house cleaning. With a CPC majority on the way, I hope their polishing their resume's and getting in good with Al-Jezzera.

I don't want to see them privatized just cleaned and reduced to what was intended, a basic national network by Canadians for Canadians.
The idea was that if you couldn't get anything else, you could at least get the CBC and you'd have access to basic services, not a protected, government funded, hobby network that outbids private industry for things like the olympics.

In this age of thousands of cable channels there is no need for the CBC in it's current form. Let it be privatized and let it move on as a Canadian content cable channel.

Seriously, the question of Canadian culture being overwhelmed by the US broadcast networks is a false argument anymore since most of our programs on broadcast and cable are produced in Canada anymore.

I will say that I love watching shows that are supposed to be in New York or LA and seeing the sights around Vancouver or Toronto. :D

EyeBrock EyeBrock:
Reverend Blair Reverend Blair:
Mallick is an opinion columnist. Her comments are no worse than what what conservative columnists (and politicians if you include the likes of Harper) have said about non-conservative politicians.

The difference on these lies is that they are tax payer funded lies.

That's what bothers me.

I can't really see it happening. Whether it is right or wrong to have government sponsored media, it is almost a cultural icon within Canada.

It is interesting how that's happening, isn't it? I wonder when the media will get tired of it and distribute their coverage a little more evenly.
