A guy I work with walked up to a lady that was wearing one and offered to buy her a ticket back to the "motherland".

Not sure why she was so pissed about it if she hates it here so much...

OK. Have you ever been to Ireland or Scotland? Do you have Irish or Scottish roots?

Alot of the Irish I met at Uni used to talk about how they hated "Americans" (although they meant us both) who called themselves "irish" based on long ago heritage. Ditto Scottish.

To me it just sounds like some teen fad no different then any other.

They used to have that same opinion about blacks in the military. Racism went very deep and was a part up to Vietnam. Today is a very different story.

Rambling a bit I know but given what alot of blacks endured I think its fair.

The problem here is that some of them want Obama to win ''only'' because he is black. Could care less what his policies are.

That in itself seems unreasonable.

At the very least, voters should be somewhat informed of either's political platforms before even casting a vote.

If the election is stolen or rigged by one party or the other Americans have the obligation to stand against that.

Democracy only exists when ligitimacy of the system, or in the case of the USA, the perception of ligitimacy, is present.

I suspect that although Americans boast being a bastion for freedom and democracy that even if ther was a problem with the election, no one would bother to do anything.
