What.. you're all upset that I didn't pay the necessary lip service to the comments?
Yeah, their bad and dumb and racially intolerant.

Because they were planted to embarrass the government, they were meant to be bad and dumb and racially intolerant.
You're " righteous indignation" is getting pretty weak by now.

Suuuuuuure, the site owner himself put those comments up specifically to embarrass Harper and the CPC.

Have you read his subsequent comments? Sounds like a card-carrying Liberal/NDP to me.

Do you ever get tired of being proven wrong everyday? Apparently not.

Anti-muslim comments are inappropriate but anti-everyone comments by muslims are perfectly fine. Send me a memo when the double-standard ends and then I'll try to give a sh*t.

This stuff is getting really boring. These posts/articles will make nil difference to anybody's voting preference. We have all made up our mind who we are voting for, as has most of Canada methinks. Roll on 14th Oct.

They're not appropriate either and nobody is defending them. We just aren't ascribing those comments to all muslims.

This issue should make a different to people's utility distributor preference, though - I maintain that the government reacted appropriately when the issue was raised, and the views of one idiot shouldn't be presumed to reflect on those of our government or military.

The offense people might take to the Muslim comments aside, having someone that makes cracks about women nagging and bitching, and about testing products on Liberals, on the company website is just unprofessional and juvenile - I'd rather see them take their business to a company that takes themselves a little more seriously.

I agree Blue. Some of this stuff is just getting really infantile now. Next we will have a story on how Harper stole candy from another kid in 2nd Grade, how Dion's dog Kyoto bit a blind one legged guy and how Layton once met a guy who was arrested 10 years later with cocaine on him.

YAWN!

That wasn't the point I was making, but I'd agree with that as well :D

Wow.... Their willingness to do business with outfits like this says something about how low the CF has sunk.

The possibility of a connection between this company and Dennis O'Connor needs to be closely examined.

So the war on islamic terror and islamic extremism should be supplied only by people who are tolerant of both?

The Canadian government shouldn't be doing business with bigots. I suspect the Nova Scotia-based company that lost business to this neanderthal outfit refrains from offensive comments on its website.

I highly doubt they knew the owners view points when they had a contract. I suspect that the Nova Scotia based company charged way to much,so the military went else where.

Reverend Blair Reverend Blair:
Gear Up Motors should be banned from bidding on government contracts for at least ten years. There should also be an investigation into Lobbyist O'Connor's relationship to them.

Teneycke said he understands that the offending material was posted on the company's website only 10 days ago, long after the contracts with the federal government had expired.

So it's okay to make racist comments as long as you're not currently a contractor for the government?

Why not? It's still mostly a free country, despite the number the left has been doing on basic freedom of speech over the last twenty years. Or do we now only defend those that we agree with?

Professionalism seems to be lacking with the contractor. They have managed to embarrass the PMO and albeit the PMO's email was hacked recently so in theory this could be as well it appears that there is a track record here. If it was simple juvenile chatter that's one thing but when the troops are in theater stuff like this does nothing but enflame the situation needlessly. The PM acted appropriately in the best interests of the CF.

$1:
He doubted that members of the military, which includes people of all faiths, including Muslims, would approve of Gear Up's messaging.

"Our soldiers are there to help the people of Afghanistan and are doing a heck of a job. They're not over there risking their lives because they hold the Afghan people or their faith in low esteem."
