kenmore kenmore:
I agree with Brenda the Canadian Border assholes at the thousand island bridge are a bunch of pricks.. they probably spent the rest of the day getting their jollies at these guys expense.. I usually go to the states via Quebec/Vermont border and have encountered very little difficulty in the many years of back and forth.. but i am working close to the 1000 island bridge and have been over about 3x it 2yrs.. and I have to say these tools are something else.. they spend more time worrying about collecting tax for the government coffers than checking for terrorists or drug traffickers ...
porn on a computer? ya that is a security threat.. some nurses I work with went over for a girls day out .. shopping etc.. on their return their car was stripped .. hub caps and all and they were left to put it together.. how much did they spend in the US.. between the 4 of them 200 bucks... time to end this bullshit..

I have to say i have crossed the 1000 islands many times, was using that way for a while, kinda swithched back to the Queenston Lewiston crossing. depends on how much travel time I have.

I fiind all border agents to be stoic, so i am the same way with them they ask i answer. I do find the American border agents to be a little more open to a smile or light humor. the canadian one seem not to want to be there. they seem to be super concerned about stupid gifts we might be bringing to Canada for the family.

I dont think the US trusts the canadian border gaurds when i crossed a month ago we had to go through a us control before the canadian, going into Canada.

Why wouldn't they trust our guards? Apparently we are bigger pricks and are more likely to rape you then they are.

I dont know i just found it funny that they had a check for leaving the US.

But really - if I have personal porn that's perfectly legal on my personal computer that's no-one's business but my own.

Terrorists sympathizer!

Sounds like pretty well all of you need to take a more affirmative
role in Federal politics, instead of showing umbrage or venting spleen
in a forum....get out there and make "porn on laptop computers" the
#1 criterion of freedom in the country, by getting the persecution
factor to priority level for YOUR local MP to address.
Maybe he or she likes porn too, and will fully understand your plight.
Or maybe you could financially help these oppressed guys to get
their case all the way to the SCC...judges love porn...that way this issue
could bypass Parliament. Get your wallets out, if it's such a noble cause.

Because as of now, calling the border guards names in here just might
not be enough to stop this terrifying practise.

Gotta love the sarcasm. What's wrong with porn? Or, to be more precise, GAY porn?

From what I can tell, robmik43's doesn't really give a rat's ass about violation of personal freedoms (or anything at all) if it doesn't directly affect him, and doesn't think you should, either - but God forbid you post anything remotely "anti-American", because that will get his attention.

$1:
So as long as the border services agency can keep it quiet, they can keep doing it."

That is his point.

oh...he might raise a ruckus if they seize his laptop for its 'farmyard follies'. If it's consensual sex between adults who gives a rat's ass??
