It's sure not something you usually brag about.

So.... you don't see this as news, Bart? I mean, you advocate carrying concealed weapons, but have no problem with some border guard going through your cel phone and laptop?
If you're a good citizen, you shouldn't worry about them going through your stuff.

Do you honestly believe that?

Would you consent to random searches of your home under that theory? How about your being stopped on the street and thouroughly searched including a full cell phone autopsy?

So many rights have been violated on the principle "if you have nothing to hide"

That's too far, but a laptop and cell phone? Come on.

How about your home computer?

Both a laptop and cell phone contain information the govt has no buisness accessing without a legal warrant and a damn good reason.

Considering they can then use even the most innocent of data to then charge and convict you of whatever crime they may invent you should be more concerned.

Also of concern is how secure is their archives.

If your banking info is hacked on a govt database and you lose your lifesavings what will you do especially when the govt says its not their responsibility?

Alright, this convinced me, I hadn't thought of that.

I used to think like you but you have to be very careful what information you give to people who can use it against you.

Why you should never ever talk to the cops without a lawyer present.

Frankly, I'm not concerned in the least about the rights of foreigners coming into the USA. As to those who are US citizens, well, we're all supposed to give up our rights to privacy in order to create some security because fuckwit civil rights morons won't let the cops profile the people they really need to target: unmarried muslims between the ages of sixteen to thirty-five.

When (notice I didn't say "if") the muslims finally nuke one of our cities I expect this to change and quickly. After the muslims are banned from this country we'll be able to dial down some of our internal security measures. In the interim, yes, I'm willing to deal with the BS at the airport because there really is a threat out there.

We had a guy last year put in jail in SA for an email linked to a porn site.

It took 4 days to get him out.

Once he got out he left for good and never went back :-)

Muslims have no sense of humor

Hey Bart. Have a nice trip. Say hi to the King for me.

Oh... don't trust Foxy Loxy. He just wants to eat you.

That's right Lily, keep telling yourself the muslims don't want to kill you or subjugate you.

While you're at it, perhaps you might enjoy the little tidbit about a spreading fad in Europe: the muslims call them "smilies". :P

When muslim girls are found in public to not be wearing their burka or hijab or headscarf the muslim boys give them a "smilie". They cut the girl's face from her ears to the corners of her mouth. Rape is apparently optional but not mandatory. The subsequent scars then encourage the girl to wear a face veil.

But, of course, it's me who's the bigot for pointing these things out, right?

http://www.dhushara.com/book/sakina/sto ... abrape.htm

$1:
"The German journalist Udo Ulfkotte told in a recent interview that in Holland, you can now see examples of young, unveiled Moroccan women with a so-called "smiley". It means that the girl gets one side of her face cut up from mouth to ear, serving as a warning to other Muslim girls who should refuse to wear the veil. In the Muslim suburb of Courneuve, France, 77 per cent of the veiled women carry veils reportedly because of fear of being harassed or molested by Islamic moral patrols."

But I should be more tolerant and accepting. Uh-huh.

All the more reason to restrict or outright outlaw immigration from those nations and get the hell out of their lands and leave them to themselves.

On a related note it would be a good thing to have laws to prosecute people who say things liek that eh?

So the US debt clock has finally reached the point in which they have to steal peoples things and sell them to get themselves out.

The frog in the pot thing is pretty funny considering he US is emulating the French.
(The US emulating the French is good cuz they will surrender when a war breaks out) :D

Do they cut their mouths with laptops and cellphones, Bart?

Because surely you're not ranting about a bunch of irrelevant bullshit to deflect the conversation away from the actual issue.

It's a safety precaution I guess., if it's needed to protect our citizens then yes, I think it's necessary.

Protect who against what?

Are you honestly content that some border ruffian with a massive ego and a pistol can take your laptop, download its contents and then share it amongst other government departments?

What else are you comfortable with?

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
I don't see why this is such news. France has reserved the right to copy hard drives for a long time and that's part of why they prohibit encryption higher than 128bit - because the Surete is a bunch of lazy bums who can't be bothered to hack anything better. Oh, and the Japanese routinely "inspect" the laptops of foreigners, too - that's why most American firms require laptops to be "sanitized" before they are allowed to go over seas. Sanitizing laptops was something I used to do when I worked at Intel and there was a long list of nations which we had to clean hard drives for.

So in this case we have the USA emulating France. Isn't that something you people usually celebrate?

US and France - together again.

Mac and Cheese eating carpet bombing monkeys!
