Pretty much. ROTFL

No it was one of those vans like UPS has except white and the doors weren't on it either. The guy wore a hat like the Maytag repairman has. And grabbed your empties from last week and collected for the month or week depending on how you paid like the newspaper boy does. I was small when they did that but I am showing my age aren't I. LOL!

Well in my opinion , the less additive to food the better.
But it's not anything to get buttered up about .... XD Had to say it.

They used to sell margarine with little colour packets so you could make it yellow at home.

And no, I'm not old enough to remember that.... my Dad told me about it.

Damn...............I am.

Anybody else remember milk in a bag?

I do! We called them bladders, and my mum reused the bags as freezer bags.

how about powdered milk? Mixed in equal parts with "real milk" you couldn't taste the difference.

Ah... the lies our parents told us................

I remember milk in a bag. The 80s weren't that long ago. Were they?

You can still get powdered milk today. My wife's lactose intolerant so we don't put milk in much stuff, so any carton we'd buy would almost always go bad before it was done. We've got a bag in the fridge right now. My daughter can't tell. 'Course she's only 19 months, and we mix in carnation instant breakfast which masks it pretty good, but still!

Than what.. a washable glass bottle?
Pretty sad when you're national identity is defined by a milk jug.

Pretty sad when your personal identity is defined by never having anything positive to say about anything.

I sure remember 'squeezing the colour' into the margarine
when I was a youngster...in Ontario in the 50's...it was
a chore...we didn't have massive thumbs like kids do today,
from playing video games.

I also remember we only had powdered milk in England,
in the 40's...and the 'city water' sure wouldn't pass
today's water standards...still, we all lived after
drinking it. Today, kids apparently die if someone else
on their same bus has a peanut butter sandwich in his backpack.

Absolutely. When I was very young I used to get up at sunrise to go out and feed the horse that delivered our milk. Although it wasn't to long after that they went to a milk truck. [cry]

With the price of gas now I wouldn't be suprised to see the dairy's using horses again to deliver their milk to the stores. ROTFL

Nope. Last time I saw it out here was in the 70's. Now all we have are plastic jugs and cardboard cow.

Maybe to many people were throwing the bags away, so they decided to go to plastic jugs and carboard for recycling.

I heard that in parts of France they have started using horses again for various things.. like mail delivery .. not a bad idea..
