Bacardi4206 Bacardi4206:
I use to wonder why games were going to more console games then PC related and here is why. Gamers will stick to XP always, with Vista as a last resort or just ditch PC gaming all together as vista isn't worth it. Unless Microsoft gets a new compatable gaming version of vista, there is no future for PC gaming. People should start developing games for Apple.

There will be a future if suddenly Apple starts actually producing games and Microsoft suddenly gets hit with massive loss of profit as gamers leave them. I have both an Xbox 360 and a PC with XP and have no intention of being forced to downgrade to vista.

Apple is suffering the same problem as the Amiga did. A much better computer and operating system but with almost no gamer industry to speak of. Its why I left Amiga for my first 286.

$1:
I was waiting for an OS clearly superior to XP

Already available:
Mac
Ubuntu
Fedora
Debian
SuSe
BSD

ridenrain points it out clearly, the OS means nothing. How efficiently does it run the application? That's why Mac OWNS the desktop publishing and video sector. My comment was directed to those people so stuck on M$oft they won't look elsewhere, so resistant to change they won't upgrade their accounting software and take advantage of their normal change-out cycle.
My Xerox didn't have a driver for XP64. No driver was coming for 64bit. I bought a new one for $60,000 because I need it to do the job properly and I can now do things the competition can't.
At the same time, I've serviced dozens of systems for book-keepers and accountants who wouldn't shell out for software that was XP compatible, 6 1/2 years later. Still running Windows 98! With dying hard drives. Every one shrieking at how much it costs to recover data from dead hard drives.
So skip Vista if you want to. Just be aware the next version out will be more like Vista and less like XP. If you buy a laptop you WILL get Vista and discover it's more secure than XP and compatible with everything on that laptop.

Waiting for Windows7? Are you freakin' retards? You "waited" 6 1/2 years for Vista. Upgrade your software & hardware if it won't work.
Or buy a Mac

I'm not buying a entire new system just so I can use microsofts (not so) latest and greatest OS. I wasn't "waiting" for Vista. I was waiting for an OS clearly superior to XP and Vista is not it.

This is exactly my opinion about Vista.
