I can't wait to hear all the Liberal partisan Suzuki's of the world try to tell us this is a good plan. The fact that Dion would tax us to keep warm in the winter proves he is not Canadian!

They can't. The only person that thinks they know the plan is Garth Turner and who's going to trust him. I don't think that Dion even has this figured out yet but maybe some of those people who understand him when he talks have some inside news.

Here's what I don't get about the "Revenue Neutral" crap. Let's pretend for a sec that what sounds so much like obvious bullshit turns out to be true. Nobody gains anything, nobody loses. OK, so what's the purpose then? What good does it do? Is this what Dion is proposing as his solution to what he suggests is a climate crisis? Furious inactivity.

So much of this global warming nonsense makes me want to ask the question "How dumb do you think we are?"

I think Dion is a terrific prime example to change party. Dion aint the sharpest tool in the shed, and people would vote for him. Now that`s sad.

Harper quote from question period:

$1:
Well on the contrary, Mr Speaker, in spite of challenges that we know exist in the economy—the reality is that we continue to have overall strong employment and income growth. Part of the reason for that Mr. Speaker is that this government has cut taxes across the board—it’s cut personal taxes, it’s cut consumption taxes, it’s cut business taxes, and Mr. Speaker, every single time we’ve cut those taxes —every, single, time—the Liberal Party has opposed those things. Mr. Speaker, now the Liberal Party wants to raise taxes across the board as part as its insane environmental and economic policies—that’s wrong for Canada.
...
But Mr. Speaker, let me tell you something, these guys can call in the Auditor-General, they can call in the RCMP, they can call in whoever they want, when they try to claim a new tax is ‘revenue neutral’, nobody’s going to buy it.

Here's a link to a petition started by the BC NDP to oppose the provincial carbon tax. http://www.bcndpcaucus.ca/en/axethegastax
$1:
Gas prices have increased by about 30 cents a litre in the four months since Campbell announced his fuel tax back in February, and price hikes are hitting those who can least afford – the people who can’t afford new, fuel-efficient vehicles and who are poorly served by a transit system suffering from years of neglect under the Campbell government.
