Breaking news,Calgary just had their first tornado,or vortex.

Theyre calling it a "gust" - apparently took a section of roofing off a small strip mall in NE Calgary.

Saw that,more damage pics coming in.

plus 26 next week,break out the shorts!

Tornado alley is more north east of Calgary near 3 hill's,dodged hail the size of footballs in that area when a tornado went through a few times.
you dont see them on the news,they rarely have visible funnels because of the lack of moisture.

the funnels aren't made visible by moisture, it's mostly the dust/dirt/debris that makes it visible.

I forget what they call them but I watched a new cinder brick building(2 bay car wash)literally lift off the ground and disintigrate in a gust while he was inside washing his truck,when he crawled out from under the shop door there was only a foundation left.

Dont know what it's doing up there but the snow's pretty heavy here right now.The kind of snow that breaks tree branch's and takes out power lines.
