And if there's no more riots to be quashed, the cops will dress up a few of their own to look like hooligans and start their own, just so they can bust some heads. :P

the montreal police are not particularly liked.. criticized for their brutality etc.. so when the opportunity to damage their cars presents its self then there are those who go for it

If I were in charge there'd be no second round - these people need to get a clue.

They could do what they do with soccer, have their home games in an empty building.

Something seriously worth considering because that might put a stop to it. Mind you, I guess the riots may have been premeditated, not by hockey fans, they were used as a crowd to mingle with.

Well, the people who rioted were not real hockey fans. They are just a bunch of assholes looking for an excuse to be assholes. I say move all Momtreal home games for the rest of this playoff run to Halifax or St. Johns. Sends a clear message, you do this crap, you miss the rest of the playoffs. I'd even black out the games from all TV's in Montreal.

Punish an entire city for the actions of couple of hundred hooligans? No.

A stepped-up police presence for the next game is the most appropriate response to this.

Surprised that the media has not blamed this on the Tories for some reason.

ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL

Seriously, It was only a ''few'' idiots that were looking for an opportune time, since there was already some fans celebrating in the streets, to execute those random acts of riot.

The entire city has to take responsibility for this....More police will just mean more cop cars burned.
