i hate to tell you my canadian friend, but Americans have been pointing ot the flaws of America since the beginning of our country, infact our country was created because of it, and we have protested spoken out and revolutionized the world in doing so. we invented the concept of civil rights, and have since the very beginning been critical of our government, since before we even gained our independance from the british.

unlike Canada, America has a long history of criticizing our own government, and even willing to fight and overturn the government when necessary. ie the revolutionary war.

iraq, vietnam, civil rights...how dare you say Americans only criticize others and don't criticize their own government. that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard.

really?? Then why were the American colonists upset that their 'rights as Englishmen' were being violated? American civil liberties became enhanced after their break with the Crown but these ideas and institutions were brought with them from Britain......and lest we forget, the little nation known as Greece had some contribution in this area.
