bootlegga bootlegga: I love the hypocrisy of certain people on this site. When a poll says the Libs are in the lead, the standard answer is, "The only poll that matters is an election", yet, when their guy is in the lead, the answer is "Aren't polls wonderful?"
well the liberals are the same , they have ignored many polls that showed them behind and then come out when polls showed them ahead .
know of a few polls showing cpc ahead that never were even commented on , so they stayed on news page and never enter the discussion forums .

No he dosen't. Dion says: Dees contree of Kanada has a proud heestory of peecekeeping and dees govarment ees ignouring dat.
And it dosen't matter what he says because he'll flip flop next week and reguardless of the threats and big talk, they'll walk out during the next vote.

give us a break , honestly you can choose to ignore the poll if you want but at some point you need to except the fact harper is PM and conservatives are not as unpopular is you would like to think.

OTTAWA–Even after two years in power, Canadians appear to be unwilling to hand Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Conservatives a majority government, according to a Toronto Star/Angus Reid poll released today.
"Two years later the report card is in – Stephen Harper you fail," pollster Angus Reid said in an interview after releasing the poll showing the Conservatives with a slight lead over the opposition Liberals.

One of the world's leading scientific journals has criticized the Conservative government's "manifest disregard for science" in Canada.
The comments were published Thursday in the British journal Nature.
"Science has long faced an uphill battle for recognition in Canada, but the slope became steeper when the Conservative government was elected in 2006," the journal said in an editorial titled "Science in Retreat."
The editorial blasts the government's decision to close the office of national science advisor, a move confirmed last month by Industry Canada. The office offers advice on global science and technology issues and how government can better fund and support Canadian science. and they wonder why brilliant minds go south or to europe... another reason not to vote tory...

What to you consider Step Harpers most serious broken promise? due to the length of the list we have broken the list down to 5 categories.
Patronage including appointing unelected officials to the senate and lobbyist’s to senior government positions appointing committee and judicial position instead of the merit based system promised.
Accountability, including an accountability act that results in more government secrecy and blacked out documents, floor crossing, attacking the ethics, information and election commissioners.
Broken promises to groups of Canadians, including but not limited to Natives (Kelowna Accord), women’s groups farmers, lumber produces and Veterans
The Income Trust Debacle resulting in Canadian investors losing 25+Billion dollars and the loss of billions of future tax revenue as these Trusts are convert to private entities

Since when is it Harpers responcability to follow through on someone elses election promises? The Kelowna accord was put forward by Martin, the conservatives never backed it.
Income trusts? So you honestly think the income trust decision was a bad one? I lost a ton of money over that and still to this day I will insist it was a good decision. It was a "too good to be true" deal and as such came to an end because it would have gotten out of control.
Are you referring to "Status of Women Canada" in your post? It was bloated bureaucracy that was doing very little for what it was costing. Again, another good move.
Farmers? Oh yeah, the wheat board. Not all farmer like the wheat board Kenny.
If you want to talk about breaking election promises why don't we talk about Dion's standing promises and there associated price tag. Even if he was elected the man would have to break as many if not more promises than Harper ever has.

The Conservative government appointed a raft of Tories to federal boards, agencies and as citizenship judges yesterday. At least seven of the 11 appointments yesterday to the National Film Board, Via Rail, the CDIC, two shipping agencies, and citizenship judgeships, went to people with Tory links. They include a former MP, a former Manitoba MLA who now works for a Conservative MP, a former Canadian Alliance candidate, and advisers to federal and provincial Tory ministers
