Yup, I was thinking how like Portugal (we are on the same latitude in southern Ontario) the weather is.

As I fired up my snowblower in my shorts I noted that my legs were experiencing severe cold. Although it was -8 Deg C today I'm sure that Al Gore is right.
I'm on tidal wave watch for Lake Ontario but it looks a bit frozen so far......come on Al, when's it gonna get bllody warmer?

Mind you, I don't have three big-fuck-off houses with pools and tennis courts like him, his hydro bill must be well big, but hey, you can consume lots if you pay carbon credits to Russia or China 'cos they are not pollutting the planet at all eh?

Frig it's cold!

Exhibit A in EB's knobheaded behaviour.

Awww! You don't agree eh Pocayou?

Bless ya!

You know, I think a four year-old cartoon character who doesn't know the name for "butterfly" would have a better grasp of what global warming is than you apparently do.

So anybody who doesn't agree with you is equated to a four year old? Nice.

Exhibit B.

Yup, you have a winning argument there Mr 4 year old. Wanna give this one an "exhibit C"?

Or is that just too obvious?

You are challenging my somewhat dim intellect. You are just dead clever!

Compared to what EB's been spewing, starting with trying to say that winter refutes global warming? Yea, I think it is.

It's the comeback relevant to somebody who doesn't care about anybody else's point of view. I've been here a few years now.

Some people on this forum debate issues, others just ram their point of view down others throats.

I'll let you suss the rest out.

Speak for yourself. You're the one calling -8 weather "severe cold." -8's nothing. 'Course if you're just pushing a snowblower maybe it is a little chilly. If you actually shovel by hand, you keep nice and toasty warm.

No, but where you've already had 50% of the snowfall for a typical winter I'd say that there's reason to pause before jumping to conclusions about AGW.

Weren't you saying something a while back about warming = more precipitation? Snow is precipitation. More snow could very well be evidence of global warming. I'm not saying that it is, just postulating off the top of my head.

Besides, one snowstorm in eastern north america is hardly anything to base an argument on one way or the other with respect to multi-decade long trends. Haven't we been over this a hundred times?

One swallow a summer does not make eh?

But one cat 5 Hurricane is ample evidence of global warming?

Come on, I'll have pollution doing bad stuff and I'm sure the heat spewed from our industries does no good and contributes to raising terra firma's temp but we know that there is a warm/cool cycle for gaia.
And until India/China/Russia cough up to their part in all this, nothing will change.
Those guys are at 'industrial revolution' stage but with way more pollution.

Us wringing our hands at SUV's carbon footprint will pale into insigificance at the average emessions that a dodgy Chinese factory making happy meal toys sprews out.

That's why all this is total bollocks.

No, one category 5 hurricane doesn't mean anything either, particularly when the devastation of it was more due to the fact that a bunch of idiots though it was a good idea to live below sea level than to the strength of the storm itself. One particular storm means nothing. It's a datum. It may even be n outlier.

Ironically, I wonder if the true toxic pollution spewed by India and China is partially offsetting their GHG emissions. They probably release a lot of SO2, which has a net cooling effect, along with the warming CO2. That's not to say it's a good thing, though.

Yea, there is a warm/cool cycle, but it's never been pushed by the rapid desequestration of carbon that we're currently engaging in. That's new.

Do you disagree with the assertion that humanity's GHG emissions are warming the planet? Or do you agree but claim that we shouldn't bother doing anything until China and India do?
