C'mon over about 500 km east and north. We got plenty. Bring your warm weather too!

It isn't too bad right now. The snow hasn't started and it's staying around -22.

Here's an update on the tragedy from yesterday. Apparently it was a family from Burns Lake that perished in the crash.

Mother, 4 kids killed in Interior crash

Investigation is looking into speed of Cavalier

The Canadian Press

The small community of Burns Lake is coping with the loss of a family this morning.

Brenda Levick, 50, and her four children have been identified as the victims of a two-vehicle collision Monday morning just west of Prince George.

A police investigation is looking into whether the Cavalier may have been going too fast for the road conditions.A police investigation is looking into whether the Cavalier may have been going too fast for the road conditions.

Levick and her two adopted and two foster children, ages six to 13, were heading to Prince George for a medical appointment when the family's Chevrolet Cavalier vehicle spun into the path of a semi-trailer, instantly killing all five in the small car.

RCMP said the two vehicles crashed on Highway 16, west of Lloyd Road between Vanderhoof and Prince George at about 10 a.m.

Investigators say road conditions were poor at the time, with blowing snow, poor visibility and a wind chill of –22.

The truck driver was shaken up but not physically injured, police said. His truck ended up in a ditch.

RUEZ RUEZ:
xerxes xerxes:
Yeah I was hearing that all day today. Especially since one of the people in my class is from Vanderhoof. She was getting calls all day making sure she was alright. Especially since she had a nasty accident at that very stretch of highway a few weeks ago.
I grew up in Vanderhoof so I'm very curious to hear who it was. Such a tragedy, it could be one family for all we know. Apperantly the snow plows and sand trucks weren't anywhere to be found at the time of the crash. So far they seem to be taking the winter off.

hey I've been to vanderhoof!!!

lol

sorry not funny that someone died

The Yellowhead from Prince to Rupert is a treachorous swath of road. MVAs tend to be serious. I lost a freind on that highway. It;s also known as the Highway of tears to many due to the inordimate number of hitch hikers, predominately native women, who have disappeared along it.
