That is just supply and demand. If you don't need gas, you don't care about the price.

But why would anyone jam a cargo ship across a canal to drive up prices, and who specifically would do that? The owners of the fruits and vegetables onboard? The adult entertainment retailers?

That's always the question I ask when someone starts with conspiracies. "What is the end goal?" Asking it usually pops the idea like a soap bubble.
