As long as the ballot-box-stuffing faithful believe with all of their hearts (and minds and souls and bodies and anything else they may conceivably possess) that they need a clown wearing an El Presidente constume to tell them what to do, then all is good in the empire. Let Bloomberg, Biden and Moe say anything they want!

Message to the children of coal-miners:
Forget about the american dream. Your dad is done.
Make room for cheaper labor and in the mean-time, give your last dollar and the last years of your youth to the owners of useless college programs. They need you more than you need them!

Isn't "learn to code" just a euphemism for learn a new in demand skill?

That mentality can apply to shit like trades, where, at least in Canada, we seem to be in short supply of trades people.

Except when a Republican says it. Then it's code for "Fuck you too." Except the Republican says it with a smile.

God forbid anyone change careers in their lifetimes - this isn't the 1950s any longer, and aside from a handful of lifelonf careers such as farming, fishing, medicine, most people should expect to have several different careers throughout their 80 or so years on this ball of dirt. Hell, I'm not even 50 and I've had already three or four very different careers.

Isn't 'learn to code' exactly what you did? Somehow I doubt the IT work you do know was ever taught in sniper school.

Coal miners. LEARN TO DO ANYTHING Except work in a coal mine. Move to Cincinnati, learn to fix cars, sell stock, greet at WalMart, pop pimples, anything. Otherwise you will eventually end up dead in an ugly way. And move away from the area where the mining is happening. Mountain top removal will ruin that nice view, run off the wildlife, ruin the fishing and the water, etch. Etch.

Yup, learning new stuff always comes with some level of satisfaction.

Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering. All required some level of college re-education. Now learning how to retire. 8)

My grandfather would've beaten me senseless if I even thought of being a coal miner. My Dad would've held me down while he did.
