'Tree planter' is actually a pretty brutal occupation. You can't do it one at a time, you have to do it thousands per day.

Tree planter is a job 99% of us couldn't do.
I used to enjoy May/June when I had an Internet cafe that would fill up with university/college kids. Had a big sign with Mr Peanut in the window that said "Planters Welcome".
The major grocery chain suddenly has more than just meat & potatoes, the last 2 restaurants here actually put some effort into Friday smorgs!

We need a good meteor strike. ;)

Or global socialism. That'll clear out a few billion people, too.

https://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/green-science/aerial-reforestation1.htm

Humans have been able to plant trees at a rate of hundreds of thousands per day....

It is not as efficient as manual, but micro efficiency does not always equate to macro efficiency. I would bet dollars to donuts that aerial is far more efficient at the macro level.

Yup, like flipping burgers.

Been there, done that, got a great tan, and was stoned for the entire contract.

It is only hard for some because they are so physically weak.

I would have thought it would be mentally challenging, more than physical. You have to over come the tiredness, soreness, blisters, bugs, sleeping on a tree root, hunger, bugs, 'hippie' scent . . . ;)

I was told the same, and found the mental aspect to be the easiest.

Could be the group I worked with, could just be the time frame, or even could just be a larger attraction to those types of activities for some.

And honestly, the scent doesn't really come up when we all stank! Well, not for us, any way....lol.

Cool, another end-of-the-world asteroid prediction. October 3rd kind of sucks though. My birthday is a week later and the NHL season starts up around then.

As good as time as any. Lets be realistic, the Canucks weren't going to win the cup this year anyway (much like my Leafs)... Think of the end of civilization as an early birthday present from all of us to you!
